Journey to the Sea: Offshore Renewables

Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro TR1 2SJ

£5.00 Ticket

Meet Dr. Faryal Khalid and learn how offshore renewable energy can help us shape a carbon neutral Cornwall.

Faryal is part of a pioneering team of engineers who have developed novel components, such as moorings and cables, for large offshore renewable energy systems. She will speak about the progress that has been made and share the challenges engineers are working to overcome to provide sustainable energy from wind, waves, and the tide.

Faryal is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter’s Department of Engineering.

This talk is part of the Evening of Invention, a partnership event by Royal Cornwall Museum and Agile Rabbit, inspired by the Marvellous Mechanical Museum, an exhibition by Cabaret Mechanical Theatre.
